Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog

July 31, 2008 at 9:28 am (Funny Things)

I might be the last person in the world to have seen this, but I finally had a break last night and watched Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. It was absolutely hilarious. If you’ve been reading the buzz about it for the last few months and haven’t actually seen it I suggest you watch it immediately. There was one small thing I didn’t like, but my blog is not the place for spoilers, so…

I wish I could go home

July 25, 2008 at 3:46 pm (Random Thoughts)

Today is pretty quiet at work. Yesterday was our manager’s last day and I think everyone was pretty sad to see her go. It makes it kind of hard to work, when you don’t have a boss :) I had a little bit of work that had to be done this morning, but now I don’t have anything that is very pressing. I have absolutely no motivation to do anything else the rest of the afternoon. I might just go around the office and chat with various people.

Mad Men

July 21, 2008 at 3:11 pm (Random Thoughts) (, )

Yesterday I got sucked into a marathon of Mad Men on AMC. I never watched this show last season, but now I am hooked. The second season starts next week so now I’ve got something else to add to my DVR. I stayed up way too late watching a show about an advertising agency that now that I am actually at an advertising agency I am too tired to work. Go figure.

Once upon a time

July 20, 2008 at 3:14 pm (Happenings) ()

It’s weird when you realize you’ve lived somewhere long enough to have memories that sound like this –  ”Remember when we came here and blah blah blah. Gosh, that was years ago” My friends and I went out to a bar with a cover band last night. It has probably been about three years since the last time I was there. It was really fun dancing and singing along all night. It makes me wonder why we ever stopped going there. The place hadn’t changed much which was weird if you think about how much we’ve changed in three years. The only difference was that they moved the women’s restroom (which was weird) and they weren’t charging to get in anymore (which was awesome).

Paper or Plastic

July 14, 2008 at 7:52 pm (Happenings)

This weekend I decided to buy some of the reusable grocery bags at the grocery store. I thought 5 would be a good number so I grabbed some and then did my shopping. I had a lot of stuff so I threw the bags up first and then started loading the groceries on the belt. By the time I get done unloading my cart the check out woman had already started ringing my stuff up.

You would think she would have used the bags I just bought, but no, that was not the case. She rang up my new bags and put them in a plastic bag. Then she continued to ring up my groceries and put them in plastic bags.

Seriously – what gives?

Which side to take?

July 14, 2008 at 4:57 pm (Funny Things)

Tomorrow I have the opportunity to vote on whether or not I want my neighborhood to become its own city. Currently we are unincorporated county land. People have been trying to sway me both ways in this vote, but I still haven’t decided what to do. Some say taxes will go up, some say they will stay the same. I’ve heard house values might go up, etc. etc. I don’t think anyone really knows what they are talking about. In trying to make my decision, I realized that this vote on whether or not to unite and become a city is probably the closest thing I’ll ever get to a coup, and that’s pretty cool.

Plan A – Step 1

July 13, 2008 at 4:38 pm (Happenings) ()

So last night was supposed to be the first step in my plan to make my crush fall in love with me. In all honesty there was a good chance that it would work out – at least in theory. However, it was an absolute bust because of one minor detail – he wasn’t there.

To what extent?

July 10, 2008 at 1:26 pm (Random Thoughts)

So interesting tidbit I found out this morning – The name of my crush came up in converstation today and my assistant said she knows him. This is not really that surprising if I think about it, but I must find out how well – this could be  useful information. She is friends with him on Facebook, but that’s about all I’ve got now. I can’t be too obvious with my questioning because the way it came up in no way indicated that I had a crush on him, so she doesn’t know that part.

I better move fast – I think she is looking for a new job.
