Let’s go fishing
Today over lunch, I was driving home and saw a man cross the street wearing full on fishing gear – the jacket vest and hat. He was also carrying a fishing rod. Since I live in the city and I’m pretty sure you can’t fish anywhere within walking distance, I thought this was a pretty funny site. Maybe he was just going to REI and wanted to fit in. Who knows?
A day at the zoo
While I was slaving away at work yesterday my brother and sister decided to go to the zoo. This is something I have yet to do since moving here. Even though I wasn’t there and didn’t see this in person, I thought it was too funny to pass up. Click on the picture for a bigger image so you can see the best expression ever!
Savannah
My brother, sister and I went to Savannah for the weekend. We had a pretty good time even though it was hot and cloudy the entire time. Friday we went to a place called The Crab Shack on Tybee Island. Here’s a picture of the sampler plate that we all shared – well actually I didn’t take the picture – it’s MFFW’s picture that she took when she and her husband went – but it’s the same.
After dinner we headed back into Savannah only to find most of the roads downtown blocked off. We got back to the hotel and found out that there was an undergroud electrical fire so they had shut power down to most of the downtown area.
Saturday we took a dolphin cruise down the river and saw a group of about 20 dolphins. It was pretty cool. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many together. We walked and drove around downtown some and then went to dinner and on a ghost tour. The ghost tour was ok, but I went on one in Dublin that was way better. I guess they have a longer history and more ghosts in Ireland though, so it probably isn’t fair to compare.
I’m excited
Jenny is coming into town tonight and I’m pretty excited. I haven’t seen her since May and haven’t gotten to talk to her much the last few months because she’s been studying and taking the BAR exam. She’s done now so she is headed here to hang out with me and Jim for a week. It should be a fun time – if only I didn’t need to come into work most of the days she’s here.
Time Travel
Does anyone else with WordPress find it a little amusing that the blog stats are all based on Greenwich Mean Time? If you hit it at the right time in the evening, you already have blog views for tomorrow. This is probably as close to seeing the future as I will ever come.
My friend from work
I have a friend at work who is the only one here that knows about my blog, and she sometimes reads it too. She commented today that it’s a good thing I never write about her since she reads it, but I think I’ll have to change that up a little
Since whenever I talk about her, her name is usually followed by “you know, my friend from work” I think I’ll refer to her as C,MFFW from now on or maybe just MFFW. Either way – welcome to my blog, C.
P.S. Your party was awesome last weekend.
A Picture is worth a thousand words
and I found one today that’s at least worth double.
I woke up at 5 this morning and
wrote down some notes about a dream I was having. I remember clearly thinking the dream was good and it would be funny to tell everyone because we had just had a lengthy conversation about dreams last night. I knew once I went back to sleep I wouldn’t remember any of it, so I wrote down some notes. I did not however, write down enough because I can’t really remember what it was about.
Here are my notes:
Airplane – like a minivan
DC
MF, Laura, Casey, Christina and Jenny
Rap Music
Apparently I thought that would be enough to jog my memory, but it is not. I do remember that Casey was flying the airplane and the rest of us were in it.
The Party was fun, but
I’m definitely feeling it today. I knew as soon as I sat down in the car when my loving brother came to pick me up that I had had too much to drink. I wish I would’ve have realized it two drinks sooner or that I didn’t have to be at work today.
They had the party split up into different rooms with each room having its own music theme. They had Jazz after Dark (which was kind of funny because the party was from 6:30 – 10:00 so it wasn’t really dark that long), Blues Bar, and a Rock & Roll Room. Because it was so split up though, there were a lot of people that I never saw or got a chance to talk to.
There was also a photographer taking pictures and making photo buttons. I totally missed out on this though because apparently they stopped taking pictures at 9. I was really disappointed by this news so one of my friends said they would make me a photo button, but I can’t remember which one. Isn’t that awful? Hopefully they really will make it and I’ll get a nice surprise sometime.
