My own little pity party
I’m not sure which is worse – the news we found out at our team meeting yesterday or the headache I woke up with this morning because I drowned my sorrows in a bottle of wine. Mind you, I know it could be a lot worse and I know there are people who have it harder than I do, but when my company’s average annual raises are 10%, “salary freeze” is not something that you want to hear. For our office, that’s about as bad as it got, some of our other offices had to lay people off, so I know I should be thankful that I still have my job, but man that sucks. I was really looking forward to getting a raise in a few months.
Dream a Little Dream
Last night, I had a really strange dream. I was even a little mad when I got up, but that was resolved when I remembered it was a dream.
Somehow, I was with one of my friends (I knew who it was in the dream, but I can’t remember now) We were at some kind of boarding school for a conference or something and they were really strict. After we got done with our meeting, we went to the cafeteria for lunch where for some reason or another I did not sit by my friend, but went to a different table. There I got yelled at by one of the school people because I apparently left my notebook in the conference room and I was supposed to bring it with me.
Whatever, this isn’t why I was mad when I got up. Here’s the strangest part of the dream – after the school lady left I looked to the edge of the table and there was one of those menu type triangle things, but it wasn’t a menu – it said “Help us Save My Boys on TBS – network has plans to cancel show – Here’s how you can help!” In my dream I was devestated. I really like this show and was really disappointed so I read the thing and wrote a letter to my congressman (this is what it said to do – don’t ask…)
Anyways, I woke up and I was mad and upset that it was cancelled, but then I remember that it’s already been picked up for a third season, which makes it even stranger that I dreamt about it. Not to mention the fact that it hasn’t been on for three months so why was I even thinking about it?
It doesn’t happen very often,
but sometimes I am the one that everyone has to take care of. In my defense, I would like to say that taking me to a country bar called Cowboys is like taking me back home I don’t know exactly when I went from being able to take care of myself to having to rely on my friends, but I’m guessing it was sometime between the third shot, falling off the bar stool for no reason and spilling water all over Blondie at Steak and Shake.
Everything is ok now
Another Bath and Body Works had plenty of the body spray I like and it was buy one get one free. All and all not a bad week – Obama is going to be President, Cucumber Lime Verbena will be around for at least a little while longer, and I’m pacing a little ahead at work because a deadline got pushed back so now I can relax a little.
Do I really need an excuse?
I’ve been so busy at work lately, that I totally forgot that yesterday was my 5 year anniversary until I got a card in the interoffice mail. Nothing happens at 5 years, so it’s not really that big of a deal. Although it does give me an excuse for all the wine I drank at bookclub and then at Brynn and Aaron’s last night – I was just celebrating.
Is it so wrong…
To be really disappointed when Bath and Body Works does not have the body spray you like. I went yesterday to get some stuff and thought I’d pick up some body spray because I’m almost out and they didn’t have any. When I asked the lady at the counter, she said that it is probably going to be discontinued 
I don’t think they should be allowed to change their scents – I mean really is there some new amazing revelation in body spray that they need to make room for.
